About how Encinitas Watchdog Formed
Encinitas Watchdog was formed by chance on Nextdoor after our mayor made a series of unilateral decisions. She wanted to turn us into a homeless sanctuary city to qualify for state funding. Her motivation was to fund her nonprofits and then have them help her get elected to California State Senate.
The story starts on October 17th, 2018, when our mayor declared a fake emergency shelter crisis. By doing this it gave some local nonprofits access to state grants which “was supposed to” help the homeless. Furthermore, section 8698.1(b) Of California legislative code states “… suspend enforcement of any and all laws that could be breached as a result of homelessness…” This means the Sheriffs immediately stop enforcing many customary laws and mitigate them instead. That act turned us into a sanctuary city. Notice where the panga boats keep landing?
Homelessness was eradicated the beginning of 2020.
Unfortunately after that declaration, homelessness in Encinitas declined its third consecutive year. Encinitas had all but eradicated homelessness. Since these nonprofits thrived on homeless, they likely were ready to fail. Blakespear would lose her supporters. Without nonprofits she is invisible.
On 11/15/2019, Leichtag announced a partnership with JFS to create a homeless parking lot that we didn’t need. As expected, Encinitas residents became concerned because we didn’t have a homeless problem. We knew something corrupt was happening .Furthermore, we have our neighbor Oceanside to see what happens. Blakespear purposely destroyed our qualtity of lafe and safety.
On 11/20/2019, the City Council had a meeting about the parking lot. We were assured that we would be allowed input. Instead, Jewish Family Services stacked the City Council meeting with shills. They were all affiliated with nonprofits who are the beneficiaries of the state grants. We also found out that Leichtag donated money to virutally every nonprofit that took seats from residents. They skewered Encinitas.
Afer all was said and done they didn’t use the money to help the homeless, they used it to grow the homeless. That’s why the parking lot is so important, they have a spot to market to keep a flow of transients coming. Ironically, they won’t force the ones on the street to park there as they promised. Those are the crumbs for the other little bug nonprofits to pick at.
The mayor and nonprofits defrauded Encinitas residents
Let’s be absolutely clear. The beginning of 2020 homelessnss was the least of Encinitas concerns. But by COVID, 3 months later, Encinitas was packed. JFS was and still keeps marketing our town inviting America’s transients here. In addition, during COVID our mayor is also filling up most of Encinitas hotels with other towns transients. This was during a “shelter in place” mandate, NOT legal. The entire racket would ensure more income for her nonprofits that are helping support her and her bid for the Senate seat. This is a real life active scam and the result of lack of checks and balances.
